champions league recent news

last results:

Liverpool beats FC Urinea Urziceni 3-1 (on the away game), leaving the final result to agg 4-1

Sporting Club of Portugal beats Everton leaded by Belgian soccer player Emmanuell Feallaini 3-0 (in the away game) leaving the final result to agg 4-2.

These results cause teams to classify to the next round of the UEFA Europa League.

A team that hasn't yet decided it's fate is Real Madrid. On their first game against Olympique de Lyon they lost 1-0 in france (away game for Real Madrid). The aggregate currently is 1-0, but i personally think that lyon will not be so lucky when they have to visit Real Madrid in their stadium (Santiago Bernabeu) given that Real won't find it very hard to win 1-0 in their own stadium.

These are the highlights of the Real Madrid-Lyon game. I got so mad I hit my dog XD!!!!

recent news- Spanish league

Atletico Madrid team of Diego Forlan, and Sergio "el kun" Agüero beat Barcelona team of Leo "la pulga" Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The "Colchoneros" beat Barcelona 2-1 with an outstanding touch by Diego Forlan, and an even better free-kick from portuguese soccer player: Simao. The feeble effort to try to tie the game was executed by Swedish mad man Zlatan Ibrahimovic, after a corner kick and a sweet one touch definition. Here are the highlights of the game, please take into account the amazing free kick goal scored by Simao. for more information go to www.sport.es

recent news

The famous English defender John Terry slept with his teammate's wife (Wes Bridge) which made Fabio Capello strip him from his captain position on the England national squad. I personally believe it is outrageous that an elegant and sophisticated man John Terry had proven to be, would do something like this and put his whole reputation on the line, some say he is the "Tiger Woods"of soccer. See more on tiger woods affair.

But back to john Terry, Although he is the captain of Chelsea, he has had some misfortunes in his career. UEFA Champions league of '08 comes to mind, after making an enormous effort to reach the final along with his teammates he has to shoot a penalty in the PK shootout which defined the match. The surface being very wet and slippery caused him to slip right as he was going to shoot the ball and make it go over the goal, ultimately missing the penalty.

Introduction

hello dear soccer fans,

My name is Ollie Nilsen, I live in South America (Colombia) and as you might know, soccer is very important here!!!

Although soccer was created in England and spread throughout Europe, it is a religion here in South America. I myself practice it and recently have arrived from a match we won succesfully. I will now present a brief introduction to the fantastic world of soccer:

"Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players using a spherical ball. It is widely considered to be the most popular sport in the world.

The game is played on a rectangular grass or artificial turf field, with a goal in the centre of each of the short ends. The object of the game is to score by driving the ball into the opposing goal. In general play, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to use their hands or arms to propel the ball; the rest of the team usually use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their torso or head to intercept a ball in midair. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout, depending on the format of the competition.

The modern game was codified in England following the formation of The Football Association, whose 1863 Laws of the Game created the foundations for the way the sport is played today. Football is governed internationally by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (International Federation of Association Football), commonly known by the acronym FIFA. The most prestigious international football competition is the FIFA World Cup, held every four years".

Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, but to me it is much more than a sport, it's a lifestyle
